Equipping Tomorrow’s Leaders for Success
Las Animas County’s Junior Achievement program, instituted by the Chamber of Commerce, teaches young people about financial responsibility and gives them a firsthand look at how business works.
JA Worldwide is the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students about workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy through experiential, hands-on programs. These lessons help prepare young people for the real world by showing how to generate wealth and effectively manage it, how to create jobs that make their communities more robust, and how to apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
In 2011, more than a dozen Pioneer employees in Trinidad volunteered to participate in the program. They shared their knowledge and time, mentoring students at Primero High School in many aspects of business, using hands-on programs to help the students recognize the economics of life. These employees provided students the valuable resources needed to build a platform for business understanding and management.
Pioneer is honored to volunteer with Junior Achievement, an organization so integral to the success of its students and to the success of the community.
