November 17, 2021: No. 1 in DFW

On November 14, The Dallas Morning News announced the 6th annual Dallas-Fort Worth area “Top 100 Places to Work” list in a special publication, and Pioneer ranked No. 1 in the large-company category. Featured in the cover article, “Striking the Big One,” Pioneer and its employees are proud to be one of the 12 companies that have made the list every year. Chairman and CEO Scott Sheffield also received accolades as the Top CEO.

October 14, 2021: Las Colinas Employees Team Up for Community Challenge

As a participant in the City of Richardson’s annual Corporate Challenge, employees at Pioneer’s corporate headquarters in Las Colinas compete in athletic and non-athletic events in support of Special Olympics Texas. Local businesses and organizations of the Dallas-Fort Worth area team up to take on the 10-week tournament, promoting volunteerism, physical fitness and wellness. Since the event’s 1997 inception, more than $1 million has been raised for Special Olympics Texas, and the program has grown into one of the largest multi-day corporate challenges in the U.S.

October 13, 2021: Pioneer Presents the 2014 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project

The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project selected North Texas for its 31st annual event during the first week of October. In conjunction with Habitat for Humanity International, the event helps raise awareness of the need for affordable housing through the startup, completion or restoration of houses. Pioneer, a longstanding partner of the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, was the event’s presenting sponsor and donated hundreds of volunteer hours to the week-long build.

November 10, 2021: Dallas Morning News names Pioneer in Top 100 Places to Work for Fifth Year

Pioneer has consistently been recognized among the “Top 100 Places to Work” by The Dallas Morning News and, based on employee feedback, has risen to the highest tier of the program’s large-company category.

One of only 16 companies to place in the Top 100 every year since the program’s inception in 2009, Pioneer ranked No. 2 in 2013 and 2012 and No. 3 for the two years prior.

June 5, 2022: Pioneer's Board of Directors Recognized with Outstanding Award

On May 30, leaders from across North Texas gathered at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in downtown Dallas to honor outstanding individual directors and entire boards for their stewardship of high-performing companies and organizations. The Dallas Business Journal hosted the event and listed the winners of its inaugural Outstanding Directors Awards in a special section to its publication on May 31.

January 22, 2022: CEO Scott Sheffield Receives 2012 Top Hand Award

The Permian Basin Petroleum Association honored Scott Sheffield, Pioneer Natural Resources Chairman and CEO, with the 2012 Top Hand Award at a dinner reception Thursday, January 17 in Midland, Texas.

“The Top Hand Award is the most prestigious award that the Permian Basin Petroleum Association gives,” said Ben Shepperd, the group’s president. “It’s an opportunity for us to thank individuals who have provided tremendous leadership from not only the oil industry perspective but the community as well.”

November 19, 2021: Great Benefits Put Pioneer in the Top 100 Places to Work for Fourth Year

The Dallas Morning News published its annual Top 100 Places to Work list on November 11, 2012, with Pioneer Natural Resources ranking second in the large-company category and being featured for “Best Benefits” overall. Pioneer is one of only 21 companies that have made the list all four years since the program began. In 2011 and 2010, Pioneer ranked third on the list and received an additional recognition for “Best at Showing [Employee] Appreciation” in 2011.

The results are based on a Workplace Dynamics survey completed by as many as 1,000 companies, non-profit organizations and schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Employees respond anonymously to statements covering six categories: company direction, goal execution, work conditions, career opportunity, manager quality and compensation/benefits.

June 22, 2022: Three-Year Commitment to Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity Project

Exeter Avenue in Dallas, Texas, was humming with activity on June 2, when it was the scene of two demolitions, two new house starts getting underway, a home-repair project and a Pioneer-sponsored neighborhood fair. Focusing on a three-year effort made possible with a $1.5 million pledge to Habitat for Humanity, Pioneer employees plan to transform this street with new home constructions, home repairs and property acquisitions. Less than six months into the commitment, five homes are now repaired and two dilapidated properties have been purchased and demolished. An additional house is awaiting the bulldozer and a vacant lot has been purchased. Pioneer starts construction of two new homes on the street in early fall, when it will also host the National Night Out event promoting neighborhood crime prevention.

June 9, 2022: Eight Annual YOUth LEADership Conference

Pioneer Natural Resources and the Victoria Business and Education Coalition (VBEC) hosted the 8th annual YOUth LEADership Conference for incoming seventh graders June 4-8 at Victoria College in South Texas. This life-changing program, which has expanded to 10 counties, teaches students the importance of staying in school and how to be successful in life through strong leadership skills.
