Joining together for neighbors in need is just one way Pioneer aims to make a difference in the community.
For the past seven years, Pioneer has teamed up with the South Central Regional Council of Governments’ Gas Assistance Program (GAP) to help seniors 55 and older pay their heating bill. Many seniors in the area must make a choice between covering medical expenses, buying groceries and paying their utility bill. Those on a low, fixed income struggle during the winter months when heating usage goes up.
Through grant monies, GAP and Pioneer have helped provide utility assistance to hundreds of households in Las Animas County, covering up to 50 percent of utility assistance for qualified senior citizens. The lives they touch and the hearts they warm every winter showcase their steadfast commitment to the community and to the belief that no person should go without heat.
At the helm of Pioneer’s success is a knowledgeable and experienced management team and Board of Directors.
