habitat for humanity - dallasPioneer is committed to service and strives to assist charitable organizations throughout the community and the world, taking great pride in those employees who volunteer their time to such organizations. Charitable Contribution Committees in Pioneer’s corporate headquarters and key divisions provide funding and volunteer opportunities to agencies whose service directly impacts the community where Pioneer employees live and work.

Pioneer makes charitable contributions to a diverse group of charities and service organizations in order to maximize the support it offers. In the Dallas area, contributions are primarily channeled through United Way of Metropolitan Dallas and Habitat for Humanity. Additional assistance is given to other groups who service the needs of homeless persons, provide clothing and gifts to the underprivileged and advocate for children in the foster care system. Pioneer’s Midland and Anchorage offices also provide contributions via their local United Way groups, which in turn support numerous local organization and programs.

Pioneer emphasizes education and has demonstrated its commitment through a number of successful programs, large and small, partnering with our employees, local communities, community colleges and large universities. In addition to supporting the engineering and geoscience schools of several major universities as well as providing financial and intellectual resources for several programs that enlighten, assist and encourage students in K-12, the Company matches contributions made by employees to qualifying educational institutions dollar-for-dollar.

Since 1993 the Company has provided scholarships to worthy candidates through its Scholarship Foundation, selecting recipients from the many qualified applications received from children of Pioneer employees. Awards are based on the student's academic achievement, financial need, extracurricular involvement in the community, references and overall responses to the questions in the scholarship application. Additionally, since 2004 Pioneer has given one scholarship each year to a local, incoming freshman at Trinidad State Junior College, helping young adults by encouraging education while also supporting the local community.
